a pottery show

After the Autumnal Equinox Day on the 23rd was over, it's getting cooler and I can feel autumn has started.

The pottery school I attend had a show from Sep. 6th to 10th. I made posters for this show.

You can see one of my posters on the right side of the entrance. It was just before opening and many students came to help displaying potteries.

This is Maneki-Neko(=beckoning cat, good luck cat), beckoning money and customers. It was located at the entrance. All parts including its eyes and golden charm are made from clay. This was done by one of students.

All the students made 2 types of potteries based on themes. The first theme was potteries for drinking, like mug cups, sake cups, soup cups and so on. These shelves were for those cups.

I made a cup for special green tea called Maccha.

This cup can be used not only for tea but also for food and sometimes accessories.

The second theme was free! Students mad whatever they liked to make.

This was amazing! Nadeshiko Japan, Japan's women soccer team! Very small works were done by a gentle man in his late 50's. A variety of students, men and women, young and old attend my pottery class.

This whole set was made by a young woman. She made a bell and an offertory box. Beautiful!

This is my another work. My theme for this is "the World of Love and Harmony".
I love mermaids, dolphins and moon.

I got some idea from this below shadow picture done by Seiji Fujishiro.
I love all kinds of art but especially I realize I love painting so much. I try to paint on not only paper but also pottery.

Finally, this is my another poster at the other entrance.

The pottery show was over successfully. I enjoyed making potteries and posters for the show.

It is said that autumn is best for food, art and exercise. I enjoy everything!!

In addition to that, I love to see autumn leaves. I'll teach how to paint autumn leaves for my pastel workshop next month!

Enjoy beautiful and lovely autumn season!

Love & Harmony for this special day

It is 9.11 today.
6 months will have passed at 2:46pm.
We'll never forget the time.
And when the 11th day of every month come,
we'll count how many months have passed since our disasters.

10 years have passed since the 911 terrorist attack.

Not only these incidents but also many unfortunate incidents
happened and are happening all over the world.

Especially today,
I like to keep Love and Harmony in my heart,
more gently and strongly.

I hope everybody all over the world join me.

I trust Love and Harmony prevail all over the world
and shine on hearts of people living in this planet.

Love always,
Chiaki

beautiful evening

I was supposed to post photos taken at the pottery show but the sunset today was very beautiful so I like to post the photos of the beautiful evening. Please enjoy them!

I happened to take this photo with a flying bird.
It flew just besides me after this.

I want to be like a bird,
flying freely to places where I like to go,
at any time when I like to go.

Sunset is a special moment
when I feel it is connected to another dimension.

All the nature is very beautiful with the reflection of sunset.

It is a magical moment .

Everything outside we see is the reflection of what's inside us

Keep Love and Harmony in your heart.

We'll see Love and Harmony outside.

At the other side of sunset, the moon can be seen.
This moment and this view are gifts from Heaven.

It'll be a full moon soon.
This full moon in September is very special to Japanese.
Hope Love and Harmony prevail all over the world.

My 2nd poster

I'll introduce my 2nd poster! The size is 80cm x 60cm. I usually paint 15cm x 15cm. I wanted to paint on a large paper and my dream came true very quickly! But I'm usually careless. My sister is very careful so she worried me a lot... I made a draft by pencil. I guess I became more careful after I made two posters.

This time, I liked to make lots of circles by using many colors!

I made patterns again and checked the colors.

I ground pastel by a special net.

Painted by hand. I was very happy to use my whole hands! I sometimes use my both hands to paint. Actually painting is a good exercise! Standing up, moving around and using my whole body!

Three circles were completed. Then... this is a pottery show. I have to advertise them!

Yes! bowl, vase and cup are appearing!

I added more circles. Very colorful and enjoyable!

These two are very different. I love both of them! Thank you very much for giving me this chance!

It is the first day for a pottery show tomorrow and I'll go to help! I'll take more photos there!

I was making posters

I spend lots of time making potteries and painting these days.

Since I don't have tours and have much time, I decided to learn pastel-painting, which I had dreamed of  learning how to paint and got a license as an semi-instructor this May. This is what the pastel-painting is like → http://loveheart515.blogspot.com/2011/05/my-first-pastel-class.html  After I had several painting workshops, I decided to be an instructor and studied a little more last month. Now I'm an instructor! Luckily, my workshop has good reputations and many like to take my lesson!

This pastel-painting is opening my new doors. I was asked to make posters for my pottery school because the school has a pottery show from Sep. 6th to 10th. I made several plates and a tea cup specially for this event. They are not sold but displayed. I'll introduce my art works after taking their photos.

Today, I like to show you my posters and the process how to make them!

First, I wrote the information by Magic Marker. Then prepared several patterns.

In Japan, the full moon in September is special. It takes time to explain why so please let me skip it.  This September full moon is always associated with rabbits, Japanese pampas grass(=susuki) and damplings(=dango). By the way, this special full moon this year is on the 12th.

I painted the sky.

By using the pattern, I erased and painted again by fingers. What will appear?

It's MOON! I used the same methods and many are going to appear!

Next is Rabbit! Then what's next?

Dumplings and Sake!! One rabbit is lonely so she needs a partner!

Yes! A pair of rabbits are moon-bathing and enjoy drinking sake!! They are very happy! I'm happy too!!

My pottery teacher already put it up and introduced it in his blog →http://agetsu-kobo.jugem.jp/?eid=59#trackback

I made one more. The 2nd one looks very different from this one and I'll introduce it in my next blog.
